Hi! I’m Stefanie Petet. I started Little You Yoga in 2016, not only for my love of teaching yoga, but also for my love of teaching children. I began practicing yoga with my grandmother, in her living room, as a child. At the time I thought it was simply stretching. It wasn’t until later that I learned that it was, in fact, yoga. I grew up as an athlete, and also as a performer on stage. Staying active and creative has always been a huge part of my life.
After moving home to Shreveport with my husband Kevin and the birth of my daughter, Kathryn, in 2014, I decided to take steps to make this dream a reality. I then traveled to New York City and became certified to teach children’s yoga through Karma Kids Yoga. I am currently obtaining my 95h Yoga Alliance certification through Yogees 4 Yoga in Dallas, TX and my 200hr Yoga certification in Shreveport, LA. I have been teaching children’s yoga classes at Norton art gallery, Sci-Port, various shreve-memorial libraries, multiple in-school classes, religious organizations, farmers markets, YMCA, Explore Yoga, and one on one sessions. I also teach Mommy and Me classes at the YMCA and Norton Art Gallery, where I have been able to take advantage of my certification through Baby Bliss, which helps me teach new moms about bonding with newborns through massage, singing and repetition. Little You Yoga has been growing rapidly and has added many certified children's yoga teachers to help spread the joy of kids yoga throughout Caddo Parish. Yes, some of our teachers are sillier than others, but they are all extremely creative, nurturing, and fun! Please contact Little You Yoga if your child or their school would be interested in bringing children's yoga into their lives.
Through my trainings I have developed a class which range from 30 – 45 minutes.. Unless they are specialty workshops. Little You Yoga works with the parents and the teachers to create lesson plans that incorporate what our little yogis are learning in school. It truly does take a village and Little You Yoga is here to provide an environment that not only strengthens the body but also teaches self awareness, self respect, enhances the imagination, and builds balanced and well rounded individuals. Now, lets go get our yoga on!
